The Long Hive Building and Keeping Ray Aldridge Reviews
Book is informative. Plans could be a little more detail. I have no problem with them, but a person not familiar with hive construction would have some problems. All and all the book is worth the money.
Great book
Overall, the eBook contained the information I was seeking. I subtracted one star due to how the pages flowed in . In many cases, the pagination made the photos quite difficult to view i.e. half the photo was above the bottom margin and half below the margin. I subtracted another star because the author didn't provide a complete supply list at the beginning or end. I had to create a supply list for myself and had to calculate the length of the 2x4's needed based on the written description of how they would be used in building the hive. Now, I trust (we'll see) the project comes together as described in the eBook and results in a lateral hive with the proper amount of "bee space".
Useful book for those of us who want to use horizontal hives.
Clear explanations, good photographs, some drawings to assist measurements would have help even more. Enjoyed the tone and humor. Thank you
Very interesting, provokes thought processes, will do more research on this subject before the next few season arrives. Will recommend to my nervous for discussion.
This was a very good book and showed me a radically different and much simpler way to construct a long hive. It is worth the money. The photos show up much better if you view them on a color , phone, or computer. The black and white doesn't work so well for that. The only thing lacking is a drawing. A simple schematic drawing would speak volumes and make things clearer.
